12/11/2008 - Milan, Italy (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Inter Milan has revealed surgery to correct Marco Materazzi's broken cheekbone has been a success.
The Italy international went under the knife on Wednesday after suffering the facial injury during Tuesday evening's 2-1 Champions League defeat at the hands of Werder Bremen.
Materazzi was injured after colliding with Werder forward Markus Rosenberg at the Weserstadion.
"The surgical intervention which was carried out on Marco Materazzi on his right cheekbone has gone perfectly," confirmed a club statement.
He is now expected to miss Sunday's Serie A game against Chievo and also the Dec. 20 meeting with Siena.
